Marquette Players Help Chicago Fire Super-20 Team To National Title

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- Marquette University junior Billy Von Rueden and sophomore Anthony Colaizzi were starters for the Chicago Fire's Super-20 team that captured a national title this past Sunday, claiming the USL Super-20 League championship with a 2-1 win over rival Toronto. Colaizzi tallied five assists in the team's five games, played over a four-day stretch in Virginia Beach, Va. The Chicago Fire went 5-0 during the postseason event, outscoring their opponents by a margin of 17-2. The Super-20 team is a development academy affiliate of the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer. It's the Fire Super-20s first national title in two straight appearances in the championship match. The Super-20 league is one of six leagues that comprise the United Soccer Leagues, which sanctions youth and development teams in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean. Read the complete story here.
