June 21, 2008
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette women's volleyball team enjoyed fantastic weather and a great turnout at its annual Triplesfest tournament and inaugural Walk for Women's Volleyball. Play started in Veteran's Park at 9 a.m. for all five divisions while the walk began around 10:30 a.m. "It is great to host an event of this size," said head coach Pati Rolf. "It brings together some of the best volleyball players in the Midwest and is always a very fun and entertaining afternoon." Many volleyball alumnae were on hand to participate as the event continues to grow and become more popular. "The walk was a good way for people to come and see what Triplesfest is all about," said Rolf. "It was a great idea, which we will keep around in the future." Money raised during Triplesfest and the walk will be provided to he Milwaukee Breast & Cervical Cancer Awareness Program and the 2008 Marquette Volleyball Locker Room Renovation Campaign. Next year's Triplesfest and walk will be held June 20.
